Val Pesarina in autumn, with golden larches and peaks in the background

Your base camp in Carnia

Behind you rises Zoncolan, the Kaiser: ten kilometres and twelve hundred metres of climbing that cyclists from all over Europe come to take on, and it starts right here in Ovaro. In front of you stand Col Gentile, Talm and the Dolomiti Pesarine. In between lies a peaceful meadow looking down on the village, with few guests, plenty of space and the true quiet of the evening.

Ovaro sits in the centre of Carnia, and from here every valley is close: Val Pesarina is 10 kilometres away, Forni Avoltri 16, Paluzza 19, Sappada 27. Set off in the morning on foot, by bike or on skis, and in the evening come back for dinner a short walk from your pitch.
